BJP couldn’t even protect Lord Ram’s wealth: Congress

Telangana Congress Media Committee Chairman Sama Ram Mohan Reddy alleged that the BJP, which had built its politics around the Ram Temple movement, had failed to safeguard the sanctity of the temple and the donations made by devotees.

“The BJP indulged in politics in the name of Lord Ram, but today even Lord Ram’s wealth has not been spared. Donations offered by devotees and even the temple’s valuables have been misused,” he alleged at a press conference here.

Referring to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s reported appeal not to defame Ayodhya or Lord Ram, the Congress leader said the real victim was Lord Ram and the faith of millions of devotees. He alleged that those claiming to uphold Sanatana Dharma had remained silent over the issue.

Mr. Reddy said BJP no longer reflected the values associated with former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and veteran leader L.K. Advani. He alleged that the current BJP leadership lacked genuine devotion and had betrayed the trust of devotees.

He also raised the slogan, ‘BJP Hatao, Asli Hindu Bachao’, alleging that the party had betrayed the faith of Hindu devotees. He further questioned whether such alleged irregularities had ever occurred at the Tirumala temple.
