BJP files plaint against man for indecent remarks against CM

Bhubaneswar: BJP state vice-president Jatin Mohanty, among others, lodged a complaint on Friday with cyber police against a man for allegedly posting abusive and indecent remarks against CM Mohan Charan Majhi on social media.Mohanty alleged that the accused had been using offensive language and sharing false and misleading content online with an intent to defame the chief minister. He claimed that the posts contained insulting and obscene remarks and constituted a punishable offence under the law.Addressing the media, Mohanty alleged that such content was creating an unhealthy atmosphere in society and urged authorities to take stringent action under cyber laws against those spreading defamatory and misleading information on social media.A BJP delegation comprising Mohanty, state executive member Jagannath Pradhan, state media coordinator Sujit Kumar Das, legal cell state coordinator Jayant Jena and Bhubaneswar district vice-president Sushant Jena visited the Cyber Police Station and submitted the complaint. A police officer said the complaint is being examined.
