Lucknow: Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday alleged that despite a significant decline in global crude oil prices, BJP govt was not passing on the benefits to consumers and was instead favouring oil marketing companies (OMCs).“BJP’s politics of Dharm (religion) and Dhan (money) has come to an end. In other countries the benefits of drop in crude oil prices have been passed on to the people by reducing the retail price of fuel. In contrast, BJP govt is not slashing the retail prices and benefiting the OMCs instead,” Akhilesh said in a statement.BJP’s ‘corrupt economics’ does not stem from the principles of ‘demand and supply’ but thrives on commission which is directly linked to the profits of the OMCs, Akhilesh said.“In simple words, the more profit oil companies will earn, the more commission the BJP will get. To sum up, the very reason for rising prices (of essential commodities) is BJP’s commission business. The result is that the common man has to bear the brunt of paying extra money for everyday use items and services,” he said. The former UP CM said the unsuspecting supporters always believed that BJP cannot resort to such designs.

“But after the temple donation embezzlement case, people have understood that for the BJP Dhan is Dharm (money is religion). BJP’s politics of religion has ended so they are now indulging in politics of money,” he said.He said the BJP was concerned that the people of India, who are religious by nature, will no longer be a part of its sins.“With the donation theft being exposed, BJP’s politics of religion and wealth have come to an end,” Akhilesh said adding: “Jo BJP ka saathi, woh Ramghati (Those who are supporting BJP are betraying Lord Ram).‘BJP eyes Rs 350 Cr in plantation driveAttacking UP govt for all the hype around the plantation drive, Akhilesh said govt’s plans to plant 35 crore saplings was a secret scheme to pocket Rs 350 crore by making an income of Rs 10 per sapling. “Those who did not spare Lord Ram, will not spare gardens and orchards either,” he said.
