GHAZIABAD: A 24 year-old youth died after coming in contact with current flowing from a transfer during waterlogging outside a park in Gyan Khand-1 in Indirapuram on Thursday. This is the second death that happened today due to waterlogging.According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Bablu alias Narendra Kachhi, a resident of Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh. He was working as security guard at a plot number 186 in Gyan Khand-1 and also cleaned the cars in the area.Abhishek Srivastava, ACP of Indirapuram said that on Thursday the nearby park was filled with water due to rain. At around 3.30 pm, Bablu had gone to the park with one of his companions.
During this time, current was flowing from the transformer installed at the park. He went near the transformer and, after coming in contact with the current, fell into the water.“During this, his companion ran from there raising an alarm and gathered colony residents. People nearby called the electricity department and got a shutdown done, and took Bablu to a nearby private hospital. There, doctors declared him dead. After this, information about the matter was given to the police. The police reached the hospital, informed the family about the incident, and sent the body for postmortem,” he said.“The body had been sent for postmortem. No complaint has been given by the family in the matter. Further action will be taken after an investigation once a complaint is received,” Srivastava said.
