BJP Chief Nitin Nabin
Newly appointed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Nitin Nabin on Tuesday cut short his Jammu visit and returned to Delhi after a key meeting was convened in the national capital at short notice, sources said.
Nabin was in Jammu as part of his organisational outreach and was scheduled to participate in a Yuva Samvad (Youth Dialogue) programme. He was also expected to visit the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine to offer prayers during the visit.
However, according to sources, the BJP chief abruptly curtailed his itinerary after an important meeting came up suddenly in Delhi, prompting his immediate return. The nature of the meeting has not been officially disclosed.
The development comes at a time when the party’s organisational reshuffle is still underway under the new BJP president.
While Nabin has assumed charge of the organisation, his core team at the party headquarters is yet to be finalised, with appointments to several key organisational positions still awaited.
