Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (BMRCL) signed a definitive agreement with Prestige Beta Projects Private Ltd. (Prestige Group) on Saturday over naming rights for the Bellandur Metro Station on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) Corridor of Phase-2A.
Under the agreement, the station will be named Prestige Bellandur Metro Station for a period of 30 years from the commencement of commercial operations.
The agreement for naming rights and other entitlements is ₹80 crore, with an additional ₹10 crore payable if the company opts for an exclusive pedestrian skywalk connecting the station to their property, taking the total value of the partnership to ₹90 crore, said a release.
“This agreement is part of its broader strategy to enhance non-fare revenue streams and strengthen the financial sustainability of the metro network. As part of the arrangement, Prestige Group will undertake approved enhancement and finishing works within the station premises to upgrade passenger amenities and interior standards. The developer will also be responsible for upkeep of the station, in coordination with BMRCL and in compliance with prescribed safety and design norms,” said the BMRCL release.
The station will remain a public asset under BMRCL’s ownership and control at all times, it added.
The agreement provides for station naming rights, limited interior advertising rights of up to 1,000 sq. ft., and allocation of 3,000 sq. ft. of commercial space within the station premises. The agreement also provides for the possibility of an exclusive pedestrian bridge linking the station to nearby developments, subject to regulatory approvals and payment of the additional ₹10 crore. Design provisions for such connectivity have been incorporated at the planning stage to ensure future feasibility, the release added.
Bellandur Metro Station is a key stop along the ORR corridor and is expected to cater to a substantial commuter base across Bengaluru’s IT and commercial hub.
