Bokaro: In a push to improve last-mile access to digital identity services, Aadhaar Seva Kendras were inaugurated in Bokaro and Giridih districts on Wednesday. In Bokaro, the maiden UIDAI-run centre has been set up at Bhagwati Colony in Chas municipal area (Ward No 18), near Neelam Hospital.
The move is expected to reduce residents’ dependence on far-off facilities for Aadhaar-related work.
“With the launch of the center, residents will now be able to access a full range of Aadhaar services locally, including new enrolments, name, address, mobile number and date of birth updates, as well as biometric corrections. Facilities for children’s enrolment, Aadhaar printouts, and download support are also available.
Modern technical infrastructure has been installed at the center to ensure faster and smoother service delivery,” said Bokaro DC Ajay Nath Jha.In Giridih, a similar facility has been opened near the old bridge area to ensure timely and transparent Aadhaar services at the grassroots level, under the direction of DC Ramniwas Yadav. Officials said the Giridih centre can handle over 200 applications daily and is equipped with trained staff. Services include biometric updates, mobile number linking, corrections in date of birth and address, photo updates, and e-Aadhaar downloads.
