Bokaro: Chas Municipal Corporation Mayor Bholu Paswan Sworn In March 17, Deputy Mayor Election to Follow

Bokaro: The oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected mayor of Chas Municipal Corporation, Bholu Paswan, will be held on March 17 at the corporation office in Chas. The programme will also include the swearing-in of elected ward councillors and the indirect election for the post of deputy mayor.According to an order issued by the district election officer (municipal)-cum-deputy commissioner of Bokaro, the entire election process for the deputy mayor will be conducted through voting by the elected councillors. The programme is scheduled to begin at 11 am with the swearing-in of councillors.Following the oath-taking ceremony, the nomination filing for the deputy mayor’s post will take place, followed by scrutiny of nomination papers, withdrawal of candidatures and preparation of ballot papers. Voting and counting will be conducted the same afternoon.Officials said the entire process will be videographed to ensure transparency and fairness. Adequate administrative and police arrangements have also been directed to ensure the smooth conduct of the programme.
