 DC Reviews Availability, Ensures Smooth Distribution

Bokaro: Taking note of recent complaints regarding the availability of domestic LPG cylinders in the district, DC Ajay Nath Jha convened a review meeting on Sunday with officials of the supply department, oil marketing companies and representatives of gas agencies.The meeting discussed the status of LPG supply in Bokaro and measures required to ensure that consumers do not face inconvenience in obtaining cooking gas. Officials were instructed to maintain a smooth distribution system and ensure timely delivery of cylinders across urban and rural areas. To strengthen monitoring, the DC directed the District Supply Officer (DSO) to constitute committees at both block and district levels.

At the block level, review meetings will be held every fortnight under the chairmanship of Block Development Officers (BDOs).The DC said, “At the district level, the DSO will also conduct fortnightly reviews, while a comprehensive meeting will be held every month under the DC to assess the overall supply situation. Strict instructions have been issued against black marketing, hoarding and illegal storage of LPG cylinders.

He said a zero-tolerance policy would be adopted under the Essential Commodities Act against violators. Citizens have been urged to report such activities to the district control room at 8986660333, 06542-242409 and 06542-241000.

The DC clarified that the supply of domestic LPG cylinders in district remains normal. Consumers in urban areas have been advised to book cylinders after 25 days and those in rural areas after 45 days. Cylinders will be supplied strictly at govt-prescribed rates. The DC appealed to residents not to panic or make unnecessary bookings, assuring that adequate LPG stocks are available in Bokaro.
