Producer Boney Kapoor has acquired the remake rights of the Tamil political satire Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil (TTT) for Hindi and other North Indian languages.A source close to the development tells Mirror, "Boney Kapoor saw the film in a theatre in Coimbatore while he was there for a Celebrity Cricket League.
TTT was a Pongal release. He loved the film and approached the producers.
" The talks are said to have progressed in Chennai last Friday, where the team of Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil hosted a success party following the film’s positive response. "Last Friday success party of the film happened in Chennai, boney ji was invited for that. This discussion happened there," the source adds. The deal was subsequently closed with Mr Kannan Ravi. When contacted, Kapoor confirmed the acquisition but stayed guarded about his plans.

The original Tamil film Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil was directed by Nithish Sahadev, a filmmaker celebrated for his work on the Malayalam hit Falimy and making a notable mark with his Tamil debut in this satire. Sahadev also co-wrote the script, bringing a sharp yet humorous perspective to everyday village politics. The film stars Jiiva in the lead role, whose performance as the village panchayat leader has been widely praised for its charm and emotional depth. He is supported by veteran actors Thambi Ramaiah, Ilavarasu, and rising talent Prathana Nathan, among others, whose ensemble brings the quirky story to life with strong chemistry and memorable character work
