Lucknow: Temperatures and humidity levels continued to make life difficult for people on Saturday. Duststorm and a brief spell of light rainfall was reported from isolated places, but it intensified sultry conditions.
The Met department has predicted intense hot conditions for the next four days.Banda remained the hottest place in the country for the third consecutive day with the maximum temperature of 43.2 degrees Celsius. Prayagraj recorded 43 degrees Celsius, Varanasi 42.6, Kanpur City 42.2 and Jhansi 41.8. .Mohammad Danish, senior scientist at the Regional Meteorological Centre, Lucknow, said, “Hot westerly winds from Rajasthan are driving the rise in temperatures across the state.
However, isolated thundershowers may occur in some areas due to local weather developments.”In Lucknow, a brief spell of rain accompanied by strong winds swept through parts of the city on Saturday afternoon. The change increased humidity. The maximum temperature was 41.7 degrees Celsius, 4.3 units above normal, and minimum temperature 30 degrees Celsius, 2.8 notches above normal. On Sunday, sky will be mainly clear sky with maximum and minimum temperatures around 42 and 30 degrees Celsius, respectively.
