Brittany Mahomes doubles down on food allergy advocacy after scary ER moment with son
Brittany’s advocacy isn’t just words. She’s partnered with organizations including Kaléo, the Mahomies Foundation and FARE (Food Allergy Research & Education) to amplify resources and share lifesaving information. She re-shared an @foodallergy post on Instagram that listed “six key ways to be an allergy ally in school,” and followed up with a series of Instagram stories that break those tips down into everyday actions families and schools can adopt.
“The safety of your child is of the utmost importance when you’re out and about.” She has also emphasized preparedness: “As a mom of two young children with food allergies, I know how important it is to be prepared for an allergic emergency.” Brittany’s work highlights devices like AUVI-Q, the kid-focused epinephrine auto-injector from Kaléo, which doctors prescribed for her children and which can be critical during severe reactions.
Real lessons from a terrifying emergency
Brittany has been candid about the moment that sharpened her mission. Recounting Bronze’s reaction to nuts, she explained, “With Bronze, I was doing early introduction,” and described how symptoms escalated: Bronze “became very irritable, very fussy,” and shortly after, Brittany noticed hives and welts. “Just seeing his entire body covered in welts and hives and him being so uncomfortable,” she said, called the experience “probably one of the scariest moments” of her life.
Patrick Mahomes shared the family’s fear too, noting how he felt “how serious it felt.”
Those firsthand experiences fuel Brittany’s push for better education in schools — from teaching kids how to recognize symptoms to discouraging bullying and exclusion. Her posts stress simple, concrete behaviors: “Respect their needs,” “Be mindful and accommodating,” and “Include everyone.” She even urged followers with a plea: “Please.” 🙏Also Read: Travis Kelce’s final NFL chapter looms as retirement rumors intensify and Chiefs face salary cap squeezeBrittany Mahomes’ blend of personal storytelling, partnerships and clear dos-and-don’ts is helping reshape how celebrity advocacy can translate into real-world safety for children with food allergies.
