Cameron Brink is finally ready to return. The Los Angeles Sparks forward, who was the No. 2 pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, said she plans to play in Tuesday’s game against the Las Vegas Aces.

This will be her first game after being away for over a year. Brink had suffered a torn ACL and meniscus in her left knee on June 19, 2024, during a game against the Connecticut Sun.

Cameron Brink confirms return on July 30 game vs. Las Vegas Aces

Cameron Brink, 22, shared with John W. Davis of the Long Beach Press-Telegram that she has been cleared by doctors and is ready to return to the court. The Sparks will play the Las Vegas Aces on Tuesday, July 30, 2025. The game will be held in Los Angeles, where Brink will play her first game since getting injured last summer.

“It means the world,” Brink said. “I’m very excited, very humbled by this experience.” The injury happened just 15 games into her rookie season, where she showed strong signs of being a top defender. She had averaged 2.3 blocks, 7.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per game in just 22 minutes per game before she got hurt.Sparks head coach Lynne Roberts told Davis that she just wants Brink to enjoy the moment. “Just be in the moment,” Roberts said.

“Smell the popcorn, play with joy. Making it back is the win.”

During the 2025 WNBA Draft in April, ESPN’s Holly Rowe reported that Brink could be back before the All-Star break, which happened earlier this July. Though that didn’t happen, Cameron Brink had already started working on drills earlier in the summer and kept improving. Also Read: MLB Places Guardians Pitcher Emmanuel Clase On Paid Leave Amid Gambling InvestigationRoberts believes this long break will make her even better. “It sucks that you have to go through it,” she said. “But I think it helps you. I’m really, really proud of her.”Cameron Brink's comeback is perfectly timed. At 11-14, the Sparks are now league tenth. Brink could provide them with the lift the squad needs as they strive for a playoff spot in the second half of the season.
