A case has been registered against an operation theatre technician at a private hospital in Telangana’s Karimnagar district for allegedly raping a young woman admitted for treatment of viral fever.
The accused, identified as Dixit, allegedly administered an anaesthetic injection to the patient before committing the assault at Deepika Private Hospital.
Following a complaint, police registered a case of rape against Dixit and initiated an investigation. Karimnagar Commissioner of Police Ghaus Alam confirmed that the hospital room where the incident took place had been sealed, and forensic samples collected and sent for laboratory examination.
“We have seized the room where the young woman was treated in the hospital, verifying details and collecting evidence. A case has been registered against the accused under charges of rape,” the Commissioner said. He added that CCTV footage from the hospital had also been seized. “We will disclose full details soon after the investigation is completed,” he said.
In another recent incident, the Telangana police arrested 10 men for allegedly gang-raping a young woman and sent them to judicial remand.

Police said the group lured the woman in June under the pretext of love and friendship, took her in a car to a room behind “Tea World” on the Jangaon–Suryapet road, and sexually assaulted her.
One of the accused allegedly took the woman to Goa, claiming to be in love with her, and is reported to have had sexual relations with her multiple times there. Following a complaint from the victim’s aunt, police registered a case.
