Caught on CCTV: Speeding car rams scooter, rider flung into air; two injured

A speeding car hit an Activa rider and a rickshaw puller in Ludhiana on Sunday. The victims sustained serious injuries and were immediately rushed to the hospital by local residents present at the scene.

The incident, captured in CCTV footage that has now surfaced, shows the car approaching at a high speed before ramming into the two victims. According to eyewitnesses, the vehicle was being driven recklessly when it suddenly hit the Activa and the rickshaw, crushing both the riders.

The car's driver reportedly lost consciousness after the collision. Bystanders claimed that the driver appeared intoxicated and required considerable effort to be revived.

Police arrived at the scene shortly after receiving a call about the accident. “We received a call about the incident. The victims have been sent to the hospital. The car is registered in Chandigarh, but the identity of the owner is still unknown. Two people have been injured,” said Balwinder Singh, Additional Sub-Inspector.

The police have begun an investigation into the matter.
