The film will chronicle the extraordinary life of Margaret Elizabeth Noble, the Irish-born teacher who later became widely known as Sister Nivedita after embracing the teachings of Swami Vivekananda. The narrative will trace her meeting with Vivekananda in London, an encounter that transformed her outlook on life. Inspired by his philosophy and vision, she moved to Calcutta in 1898 and devoted herself to India's educational and social development.

The makers are expected to explore her journey from Ireland to India, highlighting her commitment to public service, women's education and nation-building.

Ram Kamal Mukherjee to direct the biopic

Filmmaker Ram Kamal Mukherjee will helm the ambitious period drama. The director has previously worked on films based on real-life personalities, making Nibedita another addition to his growing list of biographical projects. Reports say that the production is expected to commence in early 2027.
