Kochi: Chief minister V D Satheesan flagged off new four KSRTC buses on Aluva-North Paravoor route on Sunday. Speaking after the event, the chief minister said KSRTC will be advanced in a professional manner based on careful studies.He said govt is focused on maintaining the public transport system, which remains a vital support for common people, in the best possible way. He assured that employees’ salaries and pensions would not be delayed. The chief minister also said that major qualitative improvements would be visible in KSRTC within the next six months.In the nationalized Aluva–Paravoor sector, the absence of private buses and the shortage of KSRTC services had caused serious commuting difficulties.

If the newly launched services prove successful, more buses will be allotted to this corridor, he said.He added that this will not be limited to the Aluva–Paravoor route, new services will be introduced wherever in Kerala there is heavy passenger demand and people are suffering due to a lack of buses.The newly launched services on this route include two ordinary buses and two town-to-town buses.
