Chinmayi Sripaada reacts to comments made by Chiranjeevi in new social media post: 'Casting couch is rampant'

Soon after his comments, the singer shared her own experiences and the stories of many women.

She called the casting couch a real and ongoing problem.

Chinmayi took to her X (formerly Twitter) handle, rejecting Chiranjeevi’s words, she wrote, “Casting couch is rampant, women are refused roles if they don’t offer ‘full commitment’ - a word that means completely different in the film industry.” She said many women face pressure when they enter films.

She also shared the story of a woman who came from abroad for work and was assaulted. Chinmayi said this problem is real and happens often.
