Chiranjeevi gets emotional as Pawan Kalyan gives first clap for ‘Mega158’ launch in Hyderabad

Tollywood megastar Chiranjeevi will be next working on his upcoming movie tentatively titled ‘Mega158’ or ‘ChiruBobby2’ with director Bobby Kolli. The makers officially launched the film on Thursday with a grand mahurat ceremony in Hyderabad.

Many celebrities, filmmakers and family members attended the special event and made the launch memorable.

Chiranjeevi’s brother and actor, who also serves as the Deputy CM of Andhra Pradesh Pawan Kalyan attended the event as the chief guest and gave the first clap for the opening shot of the film. Chiranjeevi later shared pictures from the ceremony and thanked “Kalyan Babu” for attending the launch and supporting him once again.

Chiranjeevi recalls an emotional 30-year-old memory

Chiranjeevi also became emotional while remembering an old memory from nearly three decades ago. He recalled how he had supported Pawan Kalyan during the early days of his career, and now the younger brother was standing beside him for this special moment. Fans loved the emotional bonding between the brothers during the event.

The ‘Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu’ star took to his X (formerly Twitter) handle to share the pictures from the ceremony and wrote, “ఈ రోజు కళ్యాణ్ బాబుకి, నాకు మధ్యలో క్లాప్ కనిపిస్తుంటే…30 సంవత్సరాల క్రితం ఇదే సీన్ రివర్స్‌లో జరిగిన సందర్భం గుర్తుకు వస్తోంది - “ అక్కడ అమ్మాయి ఇక్కడ అబ్బాయి“.

ఈ రోజు డిప్యూటీ సీఎం హోదాలో. టైమ్ తీసుకుని వచ్చి, నా 158వ సినిమా ముహూర్తంలో పాల్గొని, క్లాప్ ఇచ్చి యూనిట్ సభ్యులందరినీ ఆనందపరిచినందుకు.

His post loosely translates in English as “When I see Kalyan Babu standing beside me for the clap today… it reminds me of a moment from 30 years ago when the same scene happened in reverse during Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi.

Today, despite being the Deputy Chief Minister, he took time out to attend the muhurtham ceremony of my 158th film, gave the clap, and made the entire unit happy. Thank you.”

At the ceremony, Sushmita Konidela switched on the camera while director V. V. Vinayak directed the first shot. Veteran directors B. Gopal and A. Kodandarami Reddy, along with Nagababu, handed over the script to the makers. Several directors and producers from the Telugu film industry also attended the event.The film is expected to have strong action, emotional drama and an intense role for Chiranjeevi. The makers have finalized Anaswara Rajan for an important role in the film. Music is composed by Thaman.The regular shoot of the film is scheduled to begin in Hyderabad from Friday, just one day after the official launch.
