City likely to receive rain for 7 days

New Delhi: Some areas of the city recorded rain on Thursday. IMD said rain is likely to continue in parts of the city over the next seven days.According to the Met department, Safdarjung, which is the city’s base station, did not receive any rain till 5.30 pm.

However, between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm, Aya Nagar in southwest Delhi logged 9.2 mm of rainfall.The maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded at 38.8 degrees Celsius, two degrees above normal. It was 39.3 degrees Celsius a day earlier. The heat index or feels like temperature settled at 43.3 degrees Celsius at 2.30 pm on Thursday.The day temperature is predicted to stay between 39 and 41 degrees Celsius over the next two days.

“No large change in the maximum temperatures likely during the next four days. It may fall by 3-4 degrees Celsius thereafter,” said a Met official.The minimum temperature was reported at 25.2 degrees Celsius, three degrees below normal. It is expected to stay around 27 degrees Celsius on Friday.Meanwhile, Delhi’s air quality continued to remain in the moderate range with an AQI of 130. The AQI was 127 on Wednesday, 142 on Tuesday and 228 on Monday.
