Police in Bhopal arrested two men on charges of rape, extortion and criminal intimidation involving a Class 11 student from a prominent school in the city’s Shahpura area. The accused, identified as Ausaf Ali Khan and Maaz Khan, a gym owner, allegedly raped the minor student multiple times, filmed the assault and used the video to extort money from her, police said.

Investigators said the victim became acquainted with Ausaf Ali Khan through a mutual friend. After developing a friendship, Khan allegedly invited her for a drive and took her to an isolated location in Khanugaon, where he sexually assaulted her inside a vehicle.

Police allege the assault was premeditated, with Maaz Khan hiding outside the car to record video of the crime. The two men then used the footage to blackmail the student, demanding Rs 1 lakh and threatening to circulate the video if she refused to pay.

“The traumatized minor managed to give them Rs 40,000, but the accused continued to sexually assault and blackmail her," a police official said as per NDTV.

Police said that the assaults occurred in four different vehicles, all of which have been seized as evidence. When the victim stopped communicating with the accused and blocked their contact, Ausaf Ali Khan allegedly sent the video to her friends and began pressuring her to convert to Islam and adopt religious practices, according to the complaint.

The student eventually disclosed the ordeal to her family, who filed a police complaint with support from Hindu organizations. Both accused have been arrested and police have established a Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by an assistant commissioner of police to probe the case.
