class 9 student ends life in Anantapur district

Tirupati: A pall of gloom descended over Yadiki in Anantapur district, where a Class 9 girl allegedly died by suicide. The deceased was identified as Pallavi (14), who passed Class 8 at the Gurukul Patashala at Seethamma Thanda and got promoted to class 9.However, when Pallavi told her parents that she didn’t want to go to school and wished to discontinue their education, they were shocked and reprimanded her. She then pressurised her parents to atleast allow her to go to school from home and not admit her in a hostel, but the parents did not oblige.While, Pallavi’s father Srinivasulu was supposed to drop her at the Gurukul Patashala hostel at Seethamma Thanda on Tuesday, the class 9 student, who reportedly went into a state of depression, allegedly died by suicide at her house.Pallavi’s parents Lakshmi and Srinivasulu were completely distraught upon seeing their daughter dead on Tuesday.After learning about the girl’s suicide, Yadiki police led by the local circle inspector R Srinivasulu reached the house and shifted the body for postmortem and registered a case.
