Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has requested the Central government to grant Finance and Cabinet approvals for the commencement of works on the northern section of the Regional Ring Road (RRR), as 90% of the land required for the stretch has been acquired by the State government.
The Centre should grant necessary permissions for the southern section of the RRR for which the government has submitted the detailed project report in line with norms set by the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. The Chief Minister made the request to Union MoRTH Minister Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi on Tuesday.
During his interaction with the Union Minister, Mr. Revanth Reddy urged him to ensure construction of Raviryal-Amangal-Mannanur stretch as a greenfield highway besides according necessary permissions to the Mannanur-Srisailam four-lane elevated corridor. Mr. Gadkari was requested to take steps to sanction new greenfield highway between Hyderabad and Mancherial.
12-lane highway from future city to Machilipatnam port
The Chief Minister briefed the Union Minister about the Bharat Future City, a net-zero city proposed to be developed in Telangana. He wanted the Centre to give clearances for the 12-lane greenfield highway connecting the upcoming city with Machilipatnam port via Amaravati, the capital of neighbouring Andhra Pradesh.
