Cockroach in Srisailam laddoo? Devotee flags hygiene concern; temple denies

A shocking incident of food contamination has come to light from the Srisailam Devasthanam temple in Andhra Pradesh, when a devotee reportedly discovered a cockroach inside a laddoo prasad.As per the media reports, a devotee, identified as Saraschandra K, posted the incident which went viral, showing a dead cockroach inside the laddu offered to worshippers. The devotee, taken aback by the discovery, expressed concern over the hygiene standards maintained during the preparation and distribution of prasad in the temple kitchen.

However, temple authorities denied the claims and said that the laddoos are prepared in a clean and hygienic environment under strict supervision. A senior official, Rao, clarified that there is no chance of any insect, including a cockroach, entering the laddoo during preparation. He urged devotees not to panic over the video, assuring them that the prasad is prepared with the utmost care.Despite the denial of contamination during production, the temple administration has reportedly begun a review of the distribution process and is checking all preparation and packaging areas as a precautionary measure.This incident has brought attention to the need for robust cleanliness protocols at religious institutions, especially in offerings that are consumed by thousands of devotees.
