Congress appoints two district presidents in Madhubani

Madhubani: The Congress party appointed two separate district presidents for Madhubani, dividing the organisational structure into east and west for the first time.Nalini Ranjan Jha has been made the party president of Madhubani (east) and Meena Kushwaha of Madhubani (west).Party sources said the bifurcation was approved at the highest-level to manage longstanding rivalries and improve grassroots coordination in the politically sensitive Mithilanchal region. The move has elicited sharply divided reactions within the party. One faction has welcomed the appointments, describing them as a pragmatic step to give representation to different sections and strengthen organisational presence.

Supporters argue that a single president often failed to address the diverse demands across the district, leading to neglect of certain blocks. However, the opposing camp has strongly criticised the decision, terming it an admission of failure to resolve internal differences.Satish Chandra Mishra, a senior Congressman and former zila parishad chairman, has appealed for unity and coordinated effort to strengthen the organisation and revive the lost glory of the party in the district.
