Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy on Monday criticised BJP national president Nitin Nabin, saying the latter lacked both a clear agenda and an understanding of Telangana. Mr. Nitin Nabin addressed a couple of meetings in Hyderabad on Sunday as part of his three-day tour to the State.

Addressing a press meet at Gandhi Bhavan, he asserted that the BJP would not come to power in the State and accused its leaders of relying on ‘match-fixing’ politics. He questioned the party’s electoral performance and challenged it to disclose job creation figures promised in its 2014 manifesto.

On the alleged Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP) scam, Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy noted that BJP leaders had earlier alleged largescale corruption but had not pushed for a CBI probe despite being in power at the Centre. He said this raised doubts about the party’s intent.

He also said national leaders should travel across States to understand local issues better and recalled Sonia Gandhi’s role in the formation of Telangana State, stating her decisions reflected the aspirations of the people.
