Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy said that Congress had been fighting for getting its share of urea from the Centre in New Delhi, but the BJP and BRS were sitting in Telangana and criticising government despite knowing that urea has to come from Central government.
Mr. Reddy, who spoke to the media in New Delhi on Thursday, said that the party MPs took up the issue in Parliament and outside Parliament with no response from the Central Government. But the BJP State president N. Ramchander Rao was speaking without any idea or clarity on the issue.
He accused the Centre of neglecting Telangana by failing to ensure urea supply between April and August, forcing the State leadership, including the Chief Minister, ministers, and MPs, to exert pressure on the Union government. BRS is also silent on the issue, he said.
The Congress MP further questioned why BRS was not supporting Telangana’s own candidate in the upcoming Vice-Presidential elections, reminding that it was Congress that once helped Mr. KCR become a Union Minister and Harish Rao a minister even before becoming an MLA.
“Congress has always stood by Telangana, while BRS is now firm on disowning a Telangana legal luminary, B. Sudershan Reddy, despite claiming the champions of Telangana.”
