Contractor shot-at by in Daltonganj over land dispute, cop lens on nephew

Daltonganj: A 50-year-old man was shot at over an ongoing land dispute in Daltonganj on Saturday. The injured, identified as Sanjay Tiwary, is a contractor. He was admitted to Medinirai Medical College and Hospital (MMCH) for treatment, where his condition is stable.Police said Tiwary was shot at over an ongoing dispute over land within his family and suspected that his nephew was behind the attack. “Both were at loggerheads over a chunk of land for some time,” Sadar sub-divisional police officer Rajesh Yadav said. However, the police did not reveal the identity of the accused.Police have withheld the identity of the accused.Doctors at MMCH said that Tiwary sustained a gunshot injury on the lower right side of chest. Dr Sanjay Kumar, a surgeon at MMCH, said the bullet was lodged inside his. “The injured has an entry wound but no exit wound. X-ray and CT scan have been conducted, and a team of doctors is monitoring his condition,” he said.
