BJP MLA alleges party insiders’ conspired against him

Mysuru: BJP MLA TS Srivathsa on Saturday alleged that some party insiders had conspired against him by spreading rumours that his vote was declared invalid in the legislative council elections.

He said he knows who is behind the move and has brought the matter to the notice of the party leadership.Speaking to reporters at the BJP office after the felicitation of newly elected MLC R Raghu, the Krishnaraja MLA said, “People from my own party have plotted against me. I have informed the leadership about everything.”He said, “I’m not so careless or unaware that I would be unable to cast my vote properly. I voted with full judgement and awareness.”

Srivathsa said the party has taken cross-voting seriously and a fact-finding committee has been constituted to identify those involved. “Everything will come out soon,” he said.Meanwhile, responding to queries on cross-voting, Raghu said those who had committed wrongdoing must face the consequences. He also accused the Congress of engaging in horse-trading.Raghu said the party had recognised his work and given him opportunities despite earlier setbacks. “Though I lost the MLC elections twice, the party has now made me an MLC. I owe this opportunity to the senior leadership,” he said.
