Convocation ceremony held at INA: 84 cadets receive BTech degrees

The Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, conducted its 27th Convocation Ceremony on Wednesday (May 27, 2026).

A total of 84 Midshipmen of the 110th Indian Naval Academy Course, including three international trainees from two friendly foreign countries — Tanzania and Vietnam — were conferred BTech degrees by the chief guest, Dr. N. Kalaiselvi, Secretary, Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), and Director General, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).

Proud parents of the graduating Midshipmen witnessed the solemn ceremony, which was also attended by Vice Admiral Manish Chadha, Commandant, INA; Rear Admiral Happy Mohan, Deputy Commandant and Chief Instructor; and Commodore K. Nirmal Raghu, Registrar, INA, along with officers and instructors of the Academy.

The graduating cohort earned BTech degrees in Applied Electronics and Communication Engineering (AEC), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), and Mechanical Engineering (ME) under the aegis of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). The rigorous BTech curriculum has equipped the trainees with a strong technical foundation, analytical skills, and operationally relevant engineering proficiency. These competencies are vital for their future roles as officers in a modern, technology-driven Navy operating sophisticated network-centric warfighting systems, while also enabling them to adapt to emerging naval technologies in their careers.

The chief guest congratulated the graduating Midshipmen for their sustained efforts, the faculty and staff of INA for their consistent mentoring, and the parents for their guidance and support. She administered the Convocation Oath and presented trophies to outstanding performers. The Chief of the Naval Staff Rolling Trophies for best academic performance in the AEC, ECE, and ME streams were awarded to Midshipman Arpit Yadav, Midshipman Kuldeep Singh, and Midshipman Yash Pal respectively.
