The Kozhikode district secretariat of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] has demanded that U.S.-based company CorroHealth Infotech Private Ltd. revoke its recent decision to terminate the services of around 900 employees in its Kochi and Kozhikode offices.

In a press release on Tuesday (July 7), CPI(M) Kozhikode district secretary M. Mehboob said that the company had violated labour rules by sacking employees without prior notice. Even pregnant women were left in the lurch because of the illegal action. Mr. Mehboob claimed that no such incidents were reported during the tenure of the erstwhile Left Democratic Front government. He urged the United Democratic Front government to take steps to ensure justice for the laid-off staff.
