The house of newly elected Cricket Canada president Arvinder Khosa in Surrey, British Columbia, was targeted in a shooting early Wednesday morning, according to a report by CBC News.

Khosa confirmed to the outlet over the phone that his home in Surrey’s Newton area was shot at, but did not share further details about the incident.

Police said officers responded to reports of gunfire at around 4:40 am local time. The house was occupied during the shooting, but no injuries were reported.

Bullet Marks Found On Doors, Windows

Several bullet holes were visible on the front door, windows and outer walls of the residence after the incident.

Surrey Police said the investigation is still at an early stage. However, officials believe the shooting may be linked to an extortion case.

No arrests have been made so far.

Cricket Canada Recently Faced Serious Allegations

The incident comes weeks after Cricket Canada was named in an investigation by The Fifth Estate, which reported allegations of corruption, organised crime influence and attempts to fix parts of cricket matches involving key figures connected to the organisation.

People named in the report have denied the allegations.

Khosa Previously Denied Gang Link Claims

The investigation had also mentioned that Khosa, who continues to serve as the president of Cricket B.C., was allegedly linked to local players claiming ties to the Bishnoi gang.

The report further alleged that those individuals had threatened a member of Canada’s national men’s cricket team in 2025.

Khosa had earlier denied all such allegations.
