Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a warm welcome from members of the Indian community after arriving in Amsterdam during his visit to the Netherlands. He is in the Netherlands on the second leg of his five-nation tour.
Members of the Indian diaspora gathered to greet the Prime Minister, with cultural performances and chants welcoming him upon arrival.

During the visit, PM Modi is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten. The discussions are expected to focus on expanding cooperation between India and the Netherlands in key sectors including trade, technology, defence and renewable energy.
The visit is also aimed at strengthening overall strategic and economic ties between the two countries.
In a post on X, PM Modi wrote, “Landed in Amsterdam. This visit to the Netherlands is taking place at a time when the free trade agreement between India and the EU has given a significant boost to trade and investment relations. It offers the opportunity to strengthen ties in areas such as semiconductors, water, clean energy, and more."
“I will hold talks with Prime Minister Rob Jetten and pay a visit to Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima. I also look forward to addressing the community during an event on the morning of the 16th," he added.
He also witnessed a cultural performance upon his arrival at a hotel in The Hague during his visit to the Netherlands. Artists performed a cultural programme to welcome the Prime Minister as members of the Indian diaspora gathered at the venue.
The Prime Minister is on a five-nation tour from May 15 to 20, which also covers visits to Sweden, Norway and Italy, as India seeks to strengthen ties with Europe and the Gulf region amid evolving global economic and geopolitical developments.
