Cyberabad Traffic police and Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) including Cyberabad Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Gajarao Bhupal and Metropolitan Commissioner of HMDA and Managing Director of Hyderabad Growth Corridor Limited (HGCL) Sarfaraz Ahmad, laid out a focused action plan ahead of the monsoon to ensure infrastructure readiness and strategic interventions required to mitigate traffic disruptions, particularly along the Outer Ring Road (ORR) corridor.

Among the top priorities discussed were the construction of underpasses and foot-over bridges at critical junctions, the immediate rectification of traffic bottlenecks, and strengthening surveillance through expanded CCTV coverage. These were the key areas of discussion during the monsoon preparedness and traffic management meeting on Thursday (May 29).

Reducing pedestrian and two-wheeler fatalities received particular attention, with plans for segregated pathways and improved service roads. Officials also directed urgent completion of road repairs and pending drainage works to prevent waterlogging and improve commuter convenience during downpours. Further, surveillance enhancements, including installation of CCTV cameras at high-risk points such as TGPA, Narsingi rotaries, and the PVNR Expressway, are to be fast-tracked.

The meeting also resolved to hold regular follow-up reviews to track progress and ensure time-bound execution of all proposed measures.
