India have suffered a double injury blow in the ongoing T20I series against England, with pacer Harshit Rana and spinner Varun Chakaravarthy ruled out of the remaining two matches after picking up hamstring injuries.The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed on Thursday that both players sustained the injuries during the third T20I at Trent Bridge.
The medical team assessed them and ruled them out of the 4th and 5th T20Is, BCCI informed.The injuries forced India into two changes for the fourth T20I in Bristol. Captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and elected to bat first, with Washington Sundar and Prasidh Krishna replacing Varun and Harshit in the playing XI.India trail 0-2 in the five-match series after the opening game was washed out due to rain.England made one change to their side, bringing in Rehan Ahmed in place of Liam Dawson.Harshit had picked up two wickets for 40 runs in the second T20I, while Varun went wicketless and conceded 35 runs.Both players had only recently returned from injury. Varun had recovered from a hairline fracture in his left foot that he suffered during the IPL.
Harshit, meanwhile, had missed both the IPL 2026 season and the T20 World Cup due to a knee injury.
