Debt-ridden property dealer dies by suicide near Indore

Indore: A 45-year-old property dealer from the Khudel area on the outskirts of Indore allegedly died by suicide, with preliminary investigation pointing to mounting debt as the reason behind the extreme step.Body of the dealer, Bahadur Singh Parihar, was found near a well behind Hanuman Temple in Piplada on Tuesday evening. Police recovered a suicide note from the spot and have begun an investigation.Khudel police said Parihar left home at around 5 am on Tuesday. At about 11:30 am, he sent messages to a few friends stating that he was unable to repay his debts and indicating that he intended to end his life. Alarmed by the messages, his friends searched for him.

However, his body was found later in the night.The note attributed his decision to severe financial distress and stated that details of his financial transactions and accounts wererecorded separately for his family.Friends told police that Parihar was actively involved in social work and was a devotee of Lord Hanuman. They said he donated Rs 11 lakh to a temple some time ago. Besides owning property in Khudel, he also had assets in Indore.

People familiar with the matter told police that Parihar borrowed money to invest in land, expecting property prices to appreciate. However, the anticipated rise in land prices did not materialise, leaving him under increasing debt and financial pressure.Khudel police are examining the suicide note and other documents recovered during the investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to his death.
