Delhi Assembly seeks action report on PAC findings on liquor policy

New Delhi: Delhi Assembly has asked govt departments to submit a time-bound action taken report (ATR) on the findings of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) regarding irregularities in the excise policy 2021-22, which was withdrawn in 2022 following allegations of corruption.

The assembly secretariat has asked the excise and finance departments to furnish a status report by Jan 31, 2027, detailing action taken as of Dec 31, 2026.During the budget session, the PAC submitted its report stating that the implementation of the now-withdrawn excise policy in Delhi by the then AAP govt resulted in a loss of around Rs 2,002 crore to the state exchequer.Speaker Vijender Gupta flagged systemic failures in the excise framework and called for a time-bound action on the recommendations of the PAC.
