Director General of Telangana Police B. Shivadhar Reddy inaugurated a new retail fuel outlet on the Police Transport Organisation campus in Hyderabad on Sunday (December 7), and laid the foundation stone for a new PTO building at the SAR CPL Amberpet grounds. Officials said the developments strengthen police welfare and mobility infrastructure.

The fuel outlet, set up on a 2,025 square metre site beside National Highway 44, was conceptualised under the supervision of Inspector General of Police M. Ramesh. Developed with Indian Oil Corporation Limited, the project was completed in four months after approvals were secured within 30 days. The outlet, operated under the Telangana Police Welfare Society, is expected to attract significant footfall and contribute to welfare-related revenue.

At Amberpet, the DGP initiated construction of a new Police Transport Organisation facility spread across 21 acres. The Government of Telangana has sanctioned ₹59 crore for the project, which will include advanced workshops, diagnostic systems, maintenance blocks, operational zones and training infrastructure. Police said the new hub will nearly quadruple existing capacity, improve in-house maintenance, reduce reliance on authorised workshops and improve fleet readiness for routine duties and emergency responses.

Inspector General of Police M. Ramesh, Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar, senior PTO officials and representatives from IOCL attended the programmes.
