Sharad Chandra | TNNDhanbad: Deputy development commissioner (DDC) Sunny Raj on Wednesday flagged off the digital Birsa Krishi Rath from the district collectorate premises to promote modern farming and empower farmers with scientific knowledge.The awareness vehicle will travel across all blocks and panchayats of Dhanbad over the next 15 days, spreading information on modern agricultural techniques and govt welfare schemes.Addressing the gathering, the DDC said the district is likely to receive reduced rainfall this year due to the impact of Super El Niño, making it necessary for farmers to adopt climate-resilient farming practices. He said the primary objective of the Birsa Krishi Rath is to ensure that scientific farming advice reaches every village, helping farmers make informed decisions on crop selection and cultivation methods.A team of agricultural scientists and experts will accompany the mobile campaign and guide farmers on soil testing, organic farming, crop diversification and the use of modern agricultural machinery. Farmers will also receive on-the-spot technical guidance and solutions to farming-related problems.The campaign will create awareness about the Birsa Harit Gram Yojana and other govt welfare schemes. Messages from the chief minister and the state agriculture minister will be broadcast through the digital platform to encourage farmers to adopt improved farming practices and prepare for adverse weather conditions.The DDC said the initiative aims to reach even the remotest farmers.
