As the ED conducted multiple raids on the premises of Punjab cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann lashed out at the central government.

Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann slams Centre for ED raids at minister's house
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann launched a blistering attack on the BJP-led central government after the Enforcement Directorate conducted multiple raids at the premises linked to Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora on Friday. Accusing the BJP of dismantling democratic practices, Mann further called the raids ‘dictatorship.’
Speaking to the mediapersons, Mann said, “Our country is said to be the biggest democracy in the world, where people elect the government of their choice. But we have seen that the democratic set-up is being rattled. Non-BJP states are targeted, and especially AAP is targeted.”
Taking a further jibe, Mann also referred to the incidents where the central agencies conducted raids at the places linked to the erstwhile Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal and the Deputy Chief Minister, Manish Sisodia.
“They target non-BJP states. Kejriwal and Sisodia were also subjected to all this. If someone stoops in front of them, then all is good. Is this a democracy? This is a dictatorship,” CM Mann added.
BJP WINS ELECTIONS THROUGH ED, CBI, ALLEGES MANN
Bhagwant Mann further accuses the BJP of winning elections in states through the rapid use of central agencies like the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the ED.
“Right now, there is an election in Bengal. They do not win elections through people but ED, CBI, and others.”
Mann said that in Delhi, several AAP leaders were threatened with agency raids and were asked to join the BJP.
He also added that the recent raids at properties linked to Arora are nothing but an effort to weaken the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the state.
“Recently, the ED conducted a raid on AAP MP Ashok Mittal. Today, a raid is going on at the place of our Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora. Arora had defeated the BJP in Ludhiana. This means that the BJP is gearing up for the Punjab 2027 elections. They are threatening and saying that come to their easing machine,” he added.
He also condemned the SIR practice, which, according to him, is a move aimed at deleting voters.
