New Delhi: MediaTek has recently released its Dimensity 9600 processor, which will power the next generation of flagship smartphones. Along with this, MediaTek has also introduced Dimensity 9600 Pro as MediaTek’s first Pro-branded mobile chip with huge updates.
It utilizes TSMC’s advanced 2nm N2P mode. This might offer a 10-15% performance boost and a 25-30% improvement in power efficiency compared to the previous generation.
The Ultra cores are said to be ARM’s next generation Cortex C2-Ultra codenamed Canyon. There are three performance cores called Gelas-B, and three balanced performance cores called Gelas. Developed with smarts exclusively aimed at competing or outperforming the best chips of all competitors.
The two devices are rumoured to be built on ARM’s next-generation Magni GPU architecture, although the Pro processor could contain more cores than the Pro processor. MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro will be paired with LPDDR6 RAM as well as UFS 5.0 onboard storage this will significantly improve data transfer speeds, and this will lead to faster game launch times and quicker loading of game assets.
Dimensity chips may implement a dual architecture for the layered computing, and a so-called Neural Shader Scheduler that understands the machine learning task, distributing the computational loads between the GPU and NPU components accordingly to be both on-demand and efficient.
Some of this processor’s support could be built into the hardware for ARM’s new Scalable Matrix Extension 2 that would greatly speed up operations involving matrices to help speed up AI responses with lesser efficiency in entities using the chipsets.
