Emily Blunt reveals she is 'a bit terrified' of AI; thus, she refused to use it in the movie

Emily Blunt, the Golden Globe winner and Academy Award nominee, has been receiving applause on the internet for avoiding Artificial Intelligence (AI) in her latest film, ‘Disclosure Day.’ Choosing not to affiliate with the bots that are cruising their way to the corners of Hollywood, the 43-year-old revealed that she is actually terrified of AI.

Here’s a closer look at the reason why Emily Blunt distanced herself from AI.

Emily Blunt refuses to use Artificial Intelligence

In the film ‘Disclosure Day,’ Blunt acted in a pivotal sequence, where she had to gradually disintegrate into making strange breathing sounds and inhumane clicks during a weather report. “It’s a four-minute one that we shot that leads up to that moment where she’s (her character) gradually sort of disintegrating. There were various ways you could do it,” the distinguished actress said during an interview with Sean Evans in ‘Hot Ones,’ before adding, “You could go the AI route, which I’m a bit terrified of.

I thought I could make some really strange sounds.”Despite the highly advanced technology in Hollywood, Blunt recorded the sounds organically. “I said maybe I could come in, and we’ll just do a range of weird sounds. And it’s what we did,” the ‘Oppenheimer’ star said, mentioning that she vocalised clicking sounds, humming sounds, consonant sounds, and breathing strange sounds – and the sound designer created the perfect audio.

When Emily Blunt condemned AI in Hollywood

This marks the second time Emily Blunt has publicly spoken against the use of Artificial Intelligence in the performing arts. When AI-actor Tilly Norwood joined the industry, Blunt criticised the agencies for taking away the human connections from the screens, asking them to stop producing during a conversation with Variety. As for Steven Spielberg’s film ‘Disclosure Day,’ it will be released on June 12, 2026, in India.
