AJMER: A 14-year-old Class IX student of a govt school in Nasirabad allegedly attempted suicide by jumping into Lal Diggi pond Friday evening, claiming she was upset over teasing by classmates about her short height.According to police, passers-by noticed the girl in the pond, rescued her and rushed her to hospital while informing authorities. She was discharged Saturday morning.Police traced her family through her school identity card and called her parents to the hospital. After regaining consciousness, the girl reportedly told police that she had been body-shamed by fellow students, which left her distressed and depressed.Her parents declined to file a police complaint and said they would address the issue with the school authorities. Police said no case has been registered so far.
