Doctor’s family ‘attempts suicide’; wife, daughter die in Narsaraopet

A doctor, along with his wife and three-year-old daughter, allegedly attempted suicide by injecting a toxic substance at a lodge in Narsaraopet, Palnadu district, on Sunday (March 29, 2026). The police identified the family as Dr. Gopi, his wife Shankara Kumari (31), and their daughter Mounica.

According to the police, Ms. Shankara Kumari and Mounica died, while Dr. Gopi is battling for his life in a private hospital in Narsaraopet. Dr. Gopi was working in AIIMS-Bhopal and his wife was a nurse in the same hospital. The couple came to Narsaraopet on Saturday. Investigation is on.
