Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda police have put up posters at several key locations seeking information about a Pakistani commander of the banned outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM).
On Saturday, Senior Superintendent of Police, Doda, Sandeep Mehta, said the terrorist, identified as Saifullah, is believed to be hiding in the Chatroo belt of neighbouring Kishtwar district.
Intelligence inputs suggest he is looking for an opportunity to escape and may attempt to evade detection by disguising himself, including wearing women’s clothing or a burqa.
“We have circulated his poster — both with and without a beard — for the information of the general public. It is the poster of the same individual (Saifullah) who is the main JeM commander who is alive and attempting to flee Chatroo belt," Mehta said, urging people to immediately share any sightings with the police.

The SSP also added that police and other security agencies are fully alert and engaged in continuous search operations to prevent any terror activity. “If anyone notices a suspicious person, they should immediately inform the police or security forces," he said.
The posters, carrying photographs and brief details of Saifullah, have been displayed at key checkpoints and public places including Nagri, Dessa, Ganpat Bridge at the Doda entry point, and Thathri.
The campaign is part of intensified efforts to dismantle terror networks in the Chenab Valley, including Doda and Kishtwar districts, which have witnessed a series of encounters in recent years after militants tried to revive activities in areas largely cleared of terrorism.
Meanwhile, security forces recovered a terrorist hideout in Chilli forest, Gandoh area of Doda on Saturday morning, suggesting recent movement in the area.
Search operations across higher reaches of Doda, Kishtwar, Kathua, Udhampur, Rajouri, and Poonch have intensified after locals reported suspicious movement of suspected terrorists who may have escaped earlier cordon operations.
