Donal Bisht: “I can’t believe I was one of the final shortlisted actors for Laal Singh Chaddha” — Later the role went to Kareena Kapoor

Actress Donal Bisht, known for her performances in Tu Zakhm Hai and Ek Deewana Tha and also loved by audiences after her stint on Bigg Boss Season 15, continues to receive immense love across the entertainment industry.

After making a strong mark on television, the actress also caught the attention of Bollywood when she received a call to audition for the film Laal Singh Chaddha.At the time, Donal had just finished her last television show and was planning to take a short break from TV because of the demanding schedules. During this period, she received a call through casting director Jogi Malang, who informed her that a remake of the Hollywood classic Forrest Gump was being made and invited her to audition.

Interestingly, Donal initially had no idea about the scale of the project or who was associated with it.Over the next few months, she went through multiple rounds of auditions back-to-back. Eventually, she was told that she had reached the final stage and was among the final shortlisted candidates for the film. When initially they were looking for a fresh face for the lead !Recalling the moment she later realized which project she had auditioned for, Donal told Bollywood Bubble, "So honestly, I didn’t even know which film I had been approached for. Later when the news broke that Laal Singh Chaddha was being made by Aamir Khan, I was like, ‘Oh my God.’ I called to confirm if it was real and if I had actually auditioned for that film.

When they said yes, I just said, ‘Oh my God, I can’t believe this.’”Although the role eventually went to Kareena Kapoor Khan opposite Aamir Khan, Donal still cherishes the experience. Later, when she watched the film, she even noticed that some of the scenes she had performed during her audition were the same scenes featured in the movie.For the actress, the opportunity itself was a proud moment. Being called and final shortlisted by Aamir Khan Productions reflected how her work and the immense love she has received from audiences through television are now being noticed on a much bigger stage.
