The Trump Organization said it does not intend to earn revenue from airports that may adopt the Trump name.

The family business of Donald Trump applied for exclusive rights to use his name for airports and related travel services, saying the move is aimed at protecting the Trump brand rather than making money. According to the Associated Press, the Trump Organization- now run by Trump’s sons Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump- filed trademark applications covering multiple versions of the US President’s name.
In filings with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the company sought exclusive rights to names including “President Donald J. Trump International Airport," “Donald J. Trump International Airport" and “DJT." The applications also cover a wide range of airport-related services and products, including passenger shuttle buses, luggage, umbrellas and flight suits.

The company said the filings were necessary because Trump’s name is frequently misused and described it as “the most infringed trademark in the world."
Company Says No Money Will Be Made From Airport Naming
The Trump Organization said it does not intend to earn revenue from airports that may adopt the Trump name, including a proposal to rename Palm Beach International Airport, which is located near Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida.
“To be clear, the President and his family will not receive any royalty, licencing fee, or financial consideration whatsoever from the proposed airport renaming," the company said in a statement.

Trump Denies Role In Renaming Reports
The trademark filings come amid reports that Trump had explored renaming major transport hubs, including Penn Station and Washington Dulles International Airport. According to reports, the idea was linked to discussions about federal funding for infrastructure projects but the proposal was rejected by Chuck Schumer.
Trump later denied personally raising the naming idea, saying on social media that it originated with “certain politicians and construction union heads." Schumer also denied proposing it.
Historically, major US landmarks are usually named after presidents years after they leave office or after their deaths. Airports have been named after former presidents such as John F. Kennedy, Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton only after significant time had passed.
