Two drug peddlers were arrested by the Domalguda police with 18 kilograms of dry ganja on Tuesday.

The accused, identified as Komal Sominath Pvar, 23, and Sahil Mahesh Salunke, 18, were arrested when they were moving around with two travel bags in Ambedkar Colony near Liberty T Junction.

Upon inspection, the bags were found to contain the contraband.

Two mobile phones were also seized.

Police said the accused procured ganja from an associate identified as Babu, a resident of Vijayawada, who is currently absconding.

The duo intended to transport the substance to Aurangabad by bus and sell it at higher prices to prospective buyers.

The seized ganja is estimated to be worth about ₹4.5 lakh.

A case was booked and further investigation is under way to trace the absconding accused.
