External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will visit the United Arab Emirates on April 11 and 12 to meet his Emirati counterpart and other senior officials. The visit comes soon after the recently announced two-week ceasefire in the West Asia war involving Iran, Israel and the United States.

During the period of conflict, India and the UAE remained in constant touch. Communication continued at the level of leaders as well as between foreign ministers, reflecting close coordination between the two sides.

In the UAE, at least one Indian national has been confirmed killed in Abu Dhabi from debris after an intercepted missile. The broader India-wide toll in the Middle East conflict was reported as 8 Indians dead and 1 missing across the region.

The UAE foreign minister had earlier made a brief visit to India to meet Jaishankar during the conflict. The upcoming visit is seen as a continuation of these discussions, as both countries remain engaged following recent developments.

Earlier, amid the ongoing West Asia war, Jaishankar spoke to Foreign ministers of UAE and discussed the situation in the region. On the UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Jaishankar said, “Exchanged views on various aspects of the regional situation."
