Amid the recent surge in Ebola virus cases across several parts of Africa, Chhattisgarh has reported three suspected cases involving foreign nationals who have been placed under a 21-day quarantine.
Speaking to reporters, Chhattisgarh Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal said that the three individuals who were isolated in Durg are African nationals and have been quarantined for 21 days as a precautionary measure.
“We have been fully prepared across the state at every level for a month now…the three individuals placed in isolation in Durg are nationals from African countries and have been quarantined for 21 days as a precautionary measure. So far, tests have not confirmed the presence of the virus, nor are they exhibiting any symptoms," he said.
He said the government was “fully prepared to handle any potential virus infection" and also announced a new public grievance helpline under the Chief Minister’s office.
